I lost my right leg above the knee in a motorcycle accident, in addition to crushing my pelvis and most of the bones in my lower half. As I’ve grown as an amputee I’ve learned that getting your new limb set up takes patience and it’s always a work in progress. My prosthesis lets me live an active lifestyle: skiing, skating, hiking, doing the dishes, and keeping up with my children.
I lost my right leg below knee when a two ton steel plate fell on me at a construction site. I went thru a handful of prosthetic legs and providers before finding CPO. As an O&P technician I know that with the right practitioner, you can exceed your expectations and fulfill your dreams. I'm now playing softball and have taken up golf. My advice is don't hide from your fears. Be quick to face them. Keep your loved ones close and communicate. It’s not easy, but you’re not alone.
I lost my left leg below the knee in 2014 from a traumatic injury. My residual limb is a difficult fit, creating a number of challenges. Doug and the rest of the team at CPO have really worked to find the best system for me and dial it in to match all of my activities. With my current set up I don’t feel like there’s anything I can’t do, from exercising my Ridgeback with trail hikes to getting back on a motorcycle.
